Everyone aspires to have the dream Pioneer DJ setup. The unfortunate reality is that we can not all afford the outlay for a Pioneer Nexus Platinum System. However, Pioneer have finally released a product that has stunned DJs the world over. The Pioneer XDJ-R1 offers not only some of the features of the flagship CDJ 2000 Nexus such as the ability to play CD's both audio and MP3, along with Pioneer's Rekordbox files from a USB drive, but it comes in at a price of just £849, that's way lower than the cost of 2 x CDJ 350's! The best thing of all about the Pioneer XDJ-R1 is the way you can use an iOS device such as an iPad to fully control not just the browsing of the Rekordbox files on your USB stick, but the whole functionality of the mixer section of the unit. So for all intent and purpose, you can wonder off around the venue, and so long as you have WI-FI connection, you can retain full control of your gear and mix without needing to be anywhere near your gear! The fact that this unit only costs £849 has had us all stunned as we feel Pioneer has missed a trick here and could be sold for a lot more.
