Just when you thought Denon DJ has taken a rest from pushing forward from the 'norm' DJ products, we get these. Introducing the Denon SC6000 & SC6000M Prime media players. The original prime lineup hit the scene three years ago and since then, Denon DJ has cemented themselves as a firm contender in the scene. So what do these new additions bring to the table? They build on the design of the existing Prime media players, but with a much larger screen. Picture the screen on a Prime 4, but on a single media player. That is what you get with these new products. They are landing very soon in store, and we cannot wait to get our hands on them! To book your demo or get your order in, head over to

Denon SC6000 & SC6000M Prime: 'God Tier' Media Players
If you have committed to the
Denon approach to DJing, then you will know how special these new products are. If you haven't had a chance to consider the products from Pioneer's noisy neighbour, then I highly recommend you do.
Large Touch screen
There is loads of room to browse your playlists with the 10.1 inch HD screen. This is the biggest and best DJ touch display in the industry. The integrated crate management ensures that you can tweak your playlists on the go. Great for mid-set ideas that you always forget the next day! The size of the screen means that you can see loads of information at a glance. Workflow has never been so efficient. What's more, the player lets you analyse previously unanalysed files so they are in-keeping with your playlists.
More Possibilities
One thing that controllers (such as the Prime 4) have over separates is the ability to mix two tracks per deck i.e. Decks 3 and 4. Denon combat this by offering
two analogue and digital line outputs. That means that these players can have two layers simultaneously playing. It just goes to show how ahead of the game the processing power of these units is!
Slow it Down, Speed it Up
Another credit to the superior technology on these players is how good the time-stretching sounds. We've all heard that horrid, mangled audio quality that comes with slowing down and speeding up music. Transients are often completely missed out and the track loses all emotion. With these though, there are no artefacts present, even when keeping the key the same. Mix across genres to your heart's content with no obvious sonic flaws!
Jog Wheels
There are two jog wheel options when it comes to the new range. This is the only difference between the new models.
SC6000
The standard model, this unit comes with an 8.5-inch platter with tension adjustment.
SC6000M
The platter on this model is motorised, giving a true vinyl DJ feel, similar to that of the RANE TWELVE. Torque is easily adjusted so the deck is ready to be set up just how you like it!
Performance Ready
The Denon SC6000 features the now
expected feature on DJ players; performance pads. These eight pads trigger hot cues and loops and are incredibly responsive.
Media Ready
Whilst USB's are the usual choice for media storage, these units give you more possibilities. As well as an SD card slot, you can also add an HDD to load the units with music. This removes the need to plug in any media storage device!
Living up to the Hype
Behold, the future of digital DJing. Time will tell whether club booths accept Denon into their elite, Pioneer dominated group. Is it time for a change? DJ's are now presented with a choice. More and more new talent is coming through, with more kids learning to DJ than ever. Strap yourself in for an interesting few years in the DJ industry!
